Hi Everyone,
I can’t believe 2022 is almost half over. Such a shock to the system.
But the second half of the year is looking quite fun. I’ll be returning to signing events finally, and I’m really excited about talking to SF&F geeks in person. It’s been hard not being able to do that during the COVID age. But I’m vaxed, double-boosted, and I feel comfortable doing it. It does beg the question though: Where will Shawn be exactly?
Well, Terry Brooks and I are doing two local events to start it all off. Here are those details:

JULY 2, 2022
Time: 2:00PM
B&N Northgate
401 NE Northgate Way #1100
Seattle, WA 98125
Note: Joined by Terry Brooks, who is celebrating the release of the Child of Light trade paperback with an event & signing. Masks required while in the signing line. If you can’t mask, I’m happy to sign/personalize books for you via the store.
AUGUST 2, 2022
Time: 6:30PM
Brick & Mortar Books
7430 164th Ave NE, Suite B105
Redmond, WA 98052
Note: Terry Brooks will be in conversation with author Alexandra Oliva, discussing Worldbuilding, offering a Q&A, and signing books. Shawn will be there to sign as well. Masks required while in the signing line. If you can’t mask, I’m happy to sign/personalize books for you via the store.
That takes care of Seattle. I may still attend Emerald City Comic Con in August too. While I have my Pro Badge already for the convention, a lot of my normal friends who have booths aren’t attending, making it a 50/50 chance I go because I really do like having a home base of some kind to relax. More details on that in July.
What else am I doing? Well, I’ve been invited as a guest to two different conventions that I just couldn’t say no to. The first is Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR. That convention is trying to build its literary tract. I know Amber Benson will be there. And I know Terry Brooks is considering it. I’m eager to see who else they have go, but I promised the literary tract programmer several years ago that I would attend once I was COVID vaxed and boosted — and I’m a man of my word. So yeah, September 9-11 I will be at Rose City Comic Con. Hope to see some of you there. I’ll be giving away a chapbook for my upcoming new book at this convention.
The next convention is Dragonsteel Mini-Con. It’s the event put on my Brandon Sanderson and his Minions. They had an excellent turn out last year for their first Mini-Con and they’ve asked Grim Oak Press to attend. That means me. It’s also been a while since I’ve visited Salt Lake City. Brandon just makes it all the sweeter. If all goes well, I hope to release my new anthology Unbound II there. More details on all of that as they become available from Grim Oak Press and Team Dragonsteel.
There is a small chance I’ll be going to New York Comic Con in October. Again, not sure yet. It really depends if Terry goes. I need someone to pal around with, right?
And finally on a different note, I have copies of the Signed & Numbered editions of The Tempered Steel of Antiquity Grey and The Undone Life of Jak Dreadth. You can order them now at The Signed Page, along with Song of the Fell Hammer and the trade hardcover editions.
I hope you all are well and reading something great. Thank you for always being supportive and fun. I couldn’t do this without you.
With Magic,
Shawn
What, no Powell’s visit?
The Powells visit will be in October when Daughter of Darkness and Unbound II publish. Stay tuned.
